Meghan Barton graduated from Mount Allison University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in sculpture, printmaking and photography. She was awarded the Departmental Award in Fine Arts.

After graduation, Barton was awarded a du Maurier Arts Traveling Arts Grant 2003. The prize gave Barton the opportunity to present a public art project entitled They are beyond mentioning in many different communities across Canada. Barton has participated in group exhibitions including shows at the Peter Buckland Gallery, the Saint John Arts Center and Struts Artist-Run Center in; Art Gallery RAT in Queenstown, NB in 2004 and the Owens Art Gallery in Sackville. She has also participated in an artist residency in Cambridge Narrows with the Acacia Gallery creating earth installments.

Last year Meghan was art technician at Rothesay Netherwood School, Rothesay N.B. Meghan taught children ages 11-18.

Currently Meghan is a practicing artist, with a studio Saint John. She is an administrator, member and volunteer at Third Space Gallery, Artist Run Center, Saint John NB. In January 2008 Meghan will teach at Hazen White School with an “artist in School” Residency.
